Annals of the Astronomical Observatory of Harvard College vol. LV parts I-II. Annie Cannon worked at Harvard College Observatory, a member of a group known unofficially as “Pickering’s Women”. Cannon joined an on-going project to index and classify stars by their spectra, and in this respect her contribution was outstanding, eventually winning her renown. The signature on the cover of part I is likely to be that of the astronomer George Davidson (1845-1911), the surveyor and proposer of the Lick Observatory.
