The Duke of the Abruzzi attempted to reach the North Pole on his ship the Polar Star (Stella Polare) in 1899. This postcard uses the Duke achievements to advertise a shop in Rome - also called the Stella Polare - which sold jewelry, houseware, toys, and the like.
