Royal 8vo. pp. [iv, half-title, title], x, 77; one coloured plate, numerous illusts. from photos., 2 folding maps; fine and unopened in the original printed wrappers, a little bumped to head of spine, slight browning to wrappers; with inkstamp "De la part de l'Auteur" on the front blank.

Not in the Arctic Bibliography; Holland Arctic Exploration p. 450. The Duc's account of a hunting voyage to Spitsbergen in 1904 aboard his yacht the "Maroussia." The expedition visited Isfjorden as well as other locations in the south west of the island. Although primarily a hunting expedition, the experience led the Duc to undertake further expeditions to Greenland and the Kara sea.
