Rymill was a member of Watkins’ two Greenland expeditions (British Arctic Air Route Expedition, 1930-31; East Greenland Expedition 1932-3), and took over leadership of the second on Watkins’ death. He subsequently led the important British Graham Land Expedition (1934-7).
